BIM – 5D quantification

Vector employs a specialist team of BIM Engineers, with QS experience, who build 3D models (from either 2D PDF or CAD drawings) and then extract quantities of major materials of concrete, steelwork, formwork and ABWF to produce Bills of Quantities in accordance with specified Contract requirements.

The 3D models are built in accordance with relevant SMM requirements (using our in-house experience) and also follow the coding system implemented by Integrated Design Ltd (IDL) so that our models are compatible to both companies. They can be utilized for other purposes should our mutual clients require further innovative BIM services, such as:

• 4D timelines for project programming or claims presentation
• MEP design management and coordination
• 5D costing from extracted quantities
• Overall BIM management
• Post Contract variations quantification
• Laser scanning to check as-built works against the model
• Finalised 3D models representing as-built conditions / quantities / costs
